Dear friends, It is with sorrow that I tell you we have lost one of the great leaders in our profession with the passing of Ronny Woods Tuesday morning. Ronny is the twin brother of NSA President Donny Woods, and a current member of the ACAT board. As a P.A. from Arkansas, Ronny served on the Arkansas Board of Accountancy and was an active participant in NASBA for many years. It was in this capacity that he was selected to serve on the UAA (Uniform Accountancy Act) committee, where his insight and wisdom as the owner of a small tax and accounting firm in rural Arkansas was invaluable in protecting our practice rights. Ronny also served for many years on NSA’s right to practice committees. He was NSA’s Accountant of the Year in 2006. Even if you did not know Ronny personally, I can assure you that you have received a great benefit from his leadership and service to our profession. As an expression of our gratitude for his leadership in protecting our practice rights, we would like to raise enough money for NSA District VIII to create a nice scholarship in Ronny’s memory. Rather than numerous individuals and ASOs giving modest amounts individually, we can pool our contributions and have a really meaningful scholarship. The scholarship will be presented to NSA at the annual meeting, so contributions must be received before August 12. If you would like to honor Ronny with a contribution, please make your check payable to “NSA Scholarship Foundation” and deliver the check to a member who is attending the annual meeting in Anchorage or mail it to: Peggy Johnson NSA Governor, District VIII PO Box 997 Coweta, OK 74429-0997Your contribution to the NSA Scholarship Foundation is tax deductible, and 100% of your contribution will benefit worthy accounting students. Sincerely,Peggy Johnson
